Beddy's is a Game Changer!

Let’s be real, kids are terrible at making their beds. Their top sheet and blankets always just end up on the floor, making the room look messy. This drives me crazy!

As a mother of five children, I am always looking for tips and tricks to help cut down on clean up around the house.

Enter Beddy’s! Where has this been all my life? It has seriously made my life easier. Beddy’s has zippers all the way down both sides and across the bottom so it’s easy for kids to make their beds - all they have to do is zip them up! It’s a game changer!

Let me tell what makes this product so amazing. First, the ZIPPERS. My younger kids make their beds everyday now because all they have to do is zip them up! No more sheets on the floor, no more blankets thrown in a pile on the bed. It’s made and stays that way! When zipped up it creates a cozy, snuggling feeling. And I have found it’s wonderful in helping little ones stay in their covers. It is also super easy to unzip and remove the top layer for washing and drying.

Second, the fabric is awesome! Even my 7 year old noticed how soft and comfy it was. He couldn’t wait to sleep in his bed! The minky fabric is extremely soft and 100% polyester. The outer fabric is 100% cotton. That’s important to me because my son gets very hot and cotton is more breathable than other fabrics - which helps keeps his body temperature down during the night. The bottom has an elastic like a fitted sheet so it stays secure to the mattress and off the floor.

Third, quality! I am very particular about bedding, and the stitching and construction of Beddy’s are top notch. It so well made that I am positive it will last me a long time. My sister came over the other day and was so impressed with the quality that she is now going to order Beddy’s for her three year old.

I have to tell you, and I am not making this up, my 12 and 14 year old boys now want Beddy’s for their beds! If that doesn’t let you know how wonderful this product is I don’t know what will.

A Texas Style Teen Bedroom

My daughter is a true Texas teen- she loves cowboy boots, country music, saying y'all, and rustic decor! So it was only natural that she wanted her bedroom to have a some southern flair!

The biggest challenge was keeping to a strict budget! I only had a few hundred dollars to transfer this gal's room! So, believe it or not we took a stab at Goodwill for a dresser- and we found the perfect black one complete with mirror - and for only $75.00! It needed a little TLC -so we touched it up with some paint. Then we went to Hobby Lobby for all the rustic decor. They had everything we needed - the wall signs, the letter K, the tray and boxes. We also got the puffs from there and used fishing line to hang them from he ceiling. The black Parson chair and gray throw I already had, and we bought the ya'll pillow at Hobby Lobby as well.

I wanted bedding to fit the style of the room, yet easy on the budget. We found all the pieces at At Home. In my opinion it's not worth spending at ton of money on a teenagers bedding-espically a girl. Because what I have found over time is the bedding easily gets stained with make up, writing utensils or food. I did add layers of types of bedding (comforter, and two quilts) to make the bed look fuller.

My daughter's favorite part of the room is the silk sunflowers we got at Michaels. She says she wants sunflowers at her wedding someday.

She loves the room and I love it too! And the best part we stayed in budget!

Blast from the Past

I thought I'd share a few picture from my son's bedroom in our old house. We've been in our new, larger home for about eighteen months now and it's defiantly a work in progress. When I get my kid's new bedrooms finished I'll definably post- but for now their  a work in progress.

I wanted a vintage car feel, but I also wanted to keep the room simple from the clutter of car decor. I chose bright red and blue colors. I wanted to convey a happy, cheerful atmosphere for my 7 and 4 year olds. The bedding is all from Target, except for the sheets. I figured it was better to not spend a ton of money for my boy's bedding since they are pretty active and I didn't have to fret if it got ruined. The car signs are from Potter Barn Kids several years ago. For the wall decor/shadow boxes, I went to different antique stores and found old maps, vintage signs, and license plates with the states that had memories to me.

Inside one frame are maps, and pieces from the east coast- where my parents are from. The second frame covers middle America-primarly Texas- where we live now. And the third displays the west coast where my husband and I lived for several years.

Also, inside each of the large frames there is meaning to why I chose the pieces I did. For example: the bingo game was the just like the bingo activity I did when I was a kid. Uno and the face cards symbolize the fun games we played to pass the time on long family road trips etc.

I'll post so up close pictures of the frames so you can see them better.
