Bridgerton Inspired Mother’s Day Tablescape!
Let’s celebrate Mother’s Day with a charming cherry blossom themed tea party!
But you don’t need to wait for Mother’s Day to have a celebration like this - you could host a similar lovely event for occasions like bridal or baby showers. (Click on highlighted words for links.)
When planning this elegant tablescape I knew it had to have a soft romantic color palette made up of pastel pinks and sweet lavenders. Once I decided on the color scheme, I went searching for the perfect pieces. I found these perfect linen placemats, cloth napkins, floral napkin rings, spring patterned floral dish ware, and complimentary light pink water goblets - that all paired perfectly!
But my favorite thing on the table is the vintage silver tea set. It was my late grandmother’s and dates back to the 1940’s. She gave it to me when I got married about twenty-four years ago, and it has been a treasure to me ever since. This tea set is a family heirloom that I cherish wholeheartedly.💕
Tablescape Tip: Always start with the centerpiece so you know how much room you have for decorative pieces on the sides and space for the dishes. Then if you need more room for glasses, dishes etc, you can easily adjust items instead of having to move everything.
I wanted to display the desserts on the table and use them also as decorative pieces.
And of course no tea party is complete without petit fours and chocolates. Petit fours have been a favorite of mine since I was young and saw the 1995 movie Little Women. I displayed the pink petit fours on a vintage looking dessert stand for that classic, English tea luncheon feel.
For my centerpiece I placed a sourdough glazed bunch cake on a tradition white ceramic cake stand, and placed that on top of a white wooden riser. Then I placed faux cherry blossoms on the side of the cake and had them run down one side of the riser.
I put pink wrapped strawberry Lindt chocolates in each bowl to add some interest and a pop of color to the beaux inside of the bowl. I also added little white cakes and sugar cookies for additional treats to be enjoyed. I plan to serve finger sandwiches, cheese, crackers and traditional scones.
Happy Mother’s Day! I hope each of you have a beautiful, blessed day celebrating you!💕

A Pretty in Pink Easter Tablescape
To me spring time is all about flowers! I love to be surrounded by the beauty of flowers, but would rather not spend money constantly buying real ones. So I turn to faux florals! They never wilt or die, and always look fresh! I always buy faux florals at Michael’s craft store because of the quality in the texture and colors. You can place them in a white ceramic pitcher, a galvanized pot, or traditional glass vase - the decorating possibles are endless! Definitely my go to for Spring Décor!
Every year I choose a color pallet for Easter table. Last year it was peach with touches of aquas. This year I wanted to devote the entire tablescape to pinks and whites.
Bringing in Blue for this Year's Easter Tablescape
Spring is such a wonderful time of year! Decorating an Easter tablescape is a yearly tradition, and even though life is crazy right now, I still wanted to do it. In fact, I believe now more than ever, it's essential to create a positive environment by surrounding ourselves with things we love and make us feel good. That’s what this tablescape does for me. So lets discuss the details.
The pieces I chose this year are bright and calming, as I think this is something we all need. I also really wanted to concentrate on adding different textures so I arranged each place setting with multiple layers. I started first with a wood charger with a bead trim, then a navy melamine dinner plate, and topping it off with a white scalloped salad plate.
The bunny ear napkin rings I had from last year, and I used them again. In fact, I think I might use them every year because they’re so festive and fun. For napkins, chose plaid cloth napkins because they add an interesting pattern to the table.
You can create a beautiful dining room center piece simply by using three jars or vases that you already have around your home, and filling them with faux flowers. It is more attractive if the largest vase is in the middle and the two other vases are placed on either side.
To save money I wanted to reuse a lot of the same pieces that I’ve used in prior tabelscapes. The gray diamond patterned table runner I got about a year ago. I’ve used it a few times because the neutral color goes with so many looks. I would recommend buying a couple neutral colored table runners that you can use in multiple settings. I would suggest a white, a gray, and an ivory one. Those colors will pretty much work with any tablescape.
Another item I reuse a lot are my glass goblets. If you switch up the decor on the tablescape, but reuse the same glasses, the tablescape as a whole will still look like new.
I hope y’all have the best Easter making it magical with your loved ones!
Spring Around the House!
Welcome to my home! I’m happy to share with you touches of spring I’ve added to my home! When enter my home you walk through a long hallway. Off to left is the mudroom, to the right is the dining room, and straight a head it opens up to the great room with nineteen foot ceilings.
5 Tips for Arranging Fresh Flowers!
Fresh flowers make any space beautiful! They're one of my favorite things to photograph. However, sometimes they can be tricky to to arrange right, so I always ask my daughter Kay-Lynn for advice. (She has her Texas State Floral Licenseand lots of experience!)
Below are Kay-Lynn's TOP 5 TIPS for achieving the perfect fresh flower arrangement.
Tip #1
Always rinse flowers first to get any and all pesticides off. Then cut off 1/4 to 1/2 inch off the flower stems, but only after you’ve planned and visualized what your arrangement will look like.
Tip #2
If you're using floral foam. Let it soak for ten minutes before putting flowers in. Water foam every few days.
Tip #3
Use chicken wire horizontally at the top of the vase to keep your flowers in place. This will help prevent the flowers from flopping down.
Tip #4
Drop pennies into the bottom of the vase to help the flowers stay fresh longer.
Tip #5
Place largest flowers first, then fill in with the smaller flowers and greenery. Make sure to keep looking all around the arrangement for balance and even placement.
Thanks for stopping friends!
Hopefully these tips come in handy next time you have fresh flowers!
Spring Fun with Mackenzie-Childs
I’m thrilled to be teasing up with this darling company called MacKenzie-Childs! Their products are so whimsical, creative, and fun! They sent me a few pieces that I will cherish for years to come!
The Morning Glory Pitcher is my favorite! The colors are so bright and cheerful! It’s a fun contrast next to the black and white egg plate, which has the signature MacKenzie-Child's Courtly Check design. To carry on the black and white look, I added a black and white dot ribbon to my cake stands. (And the cake plate stands are at Home Goods right now - I just saw them in their stores!) Going back to the ribbon, it also goes great with the adorable Easter Chicks!! They too have have the Courtly Check design and are too cute for words! (I'm constantly taking them out of the hands of my two year old because she wants to play with them!) I love the love the turquoise color the bottom half of the chicks so I added the turquoise napkins to match their chevron pattern, and add a pop of color. The white bunnies and gold colored eggs are from Target. The carrots are from Hobby Lobby, but I got them forever ago.
And being a gardening lover, I was very grateful to receive this darling gardening tool set from MacKezie-Childs. The tools are sturdy and comfortable to use. Plus, they're pink and black - my favorite colors! Thank you!
Hope you have a wonderful time decorating for Spring like I did! And have an enjoyable
Easter with family and friends.
